My List of NY Sights

After living in the Big Apple for about a year and having a number of visitors, I've developed my own list of things to see. A few of my favorite sights/places for those that dare to set foot here:

-Rocco's Bakery, West Village: Best selection of desserts in mini sizes and mini prices. Get a few platefuls for a group of friends.
-Rockefeller Center/Radio City Music Hall: Not only is this where they held the New York debut of Singing in the Rain when it first opened, but it is where I work, and is a part of my daily life.
-Times Square: duh.
-Washington Square/NYU: duh.
-Union Square: Great statues, and home to weekly farmer's markets and seasonal fairs.
-Chelsea Market: Yummy brownies in a cozy cave-like setting.
-Broadway in Soho: The "main drag" of my first year in NY.
-Metropolitan Museum of Art: A whole day's worth of fun. Also on that trip, stop by Le Pain Quotidien for a French Cream Donut (mmmm).
-United Nations: First came here with my parents when I was first visiting NYU and of course it was the first place I took Kevin. Great views of the East River and you can go inside.
-Grand Central Station: Can be a little intimidating if it's the first thing you see in the City, but once you're warmed up, it's like an adrenaline rush.
-Yankee Stadium: They're building a new one, but you still can't help but stand in awe of the concrete giant. If you walk a few blocks up from it (up a hill-ish thing), you get a great view of the inside as well. Ginormous.
-Macy's Herald Square: Ending point of the infamous Thanksgiving Day Parade. The inside is like most other Macy's, but the intersection there is just abuzz.
-Fifth Avenue above 50th St.: THE Saks Fifth Avenue, an H&M Flagship store, the fabulous Tiffany & Co. , and the awe-inspiring St. Patrick's Cathedral. Keep walking and you'll hit FAO Schwartz & Central Park.
-Cooper Union: Peter Cooper is buried here (I forget who he is but I know he's important), and the building is just amazing.

There's the Angeline Guide to Manhattan.

Also realized today that I haven't made good on my previous editorial calendar. Look for those after the Chrismas break (a.k.a. after I graduate).
